Google Browser Released Today

Google releases new open source browser called, Google Chrome. What will this do to Flock and Firefox? One of the claims is it is not just a browser, but also a modern platform for web pages and applications. Designed to be a browser that is simple. Google Chrome also claims to be clean and fast. A real plus compared to the old browsers.

Google Chrome is releasing this beta for Windows to start with. As well as versions for Mac and Linux too. They have taken parts of Apple, Mozilla and others, hopefully Flock. The best part is that they are making it open source.

Specs:.
Each tab will run in its own process. These processes will be completely isolated from each other. to prevent them from accessing information on the user's computer. This architecture should lead to a more stable and more consistent browser. Google is using its search engine index to prioritize browser testing. Web pages linked to the most from Google's Search index are getting the most hits to make sure Chrome is functioning properly.

Surfing Speeds:.
The new web browser is written with the help of Web Kit, the open-source engine at the core of Safari. The browser is also getting a new Java script virtual machine, Version 8 is said to be a better solution for more complex Web applications.

Ease of Use - User Experience:.
Chrome's URL entry field will be called the Omnibox and will feed information based on your browsing history and live search engine results (more personal search hmmm). The start page will show thumbnails of your most visited pages and list their top searches. There will also be a private mode like IE 8 for those worried about privacy.

Security:.
The browsers architecture lends itself to secure surfing. Web pages or tabs each run on its own process and blocked from accessing other processes. New permissions are currently being developed for plug-ins. A database and API to access phishing and scam sites are said to used and made available to the public. The Chrome browser will be constantly updated with this new information.

Here is how it works, you click on one of the Adspheres and you will visit the the site being promoted. Some have a nice logo that can help you identify the site but all sites have the hover over link so you know where you are going. To get your own sphere is as easy as registering for a free account. You will need to earn or buy credits to upgrade your AdSphere.

The minimum cost for a Sphere is $1 and you will need $10 worth of credits for your logo. While all Spheres purchased are permanent you can modify at anytime. You also get to design it by choosing a start and end color. You also get to choose the wording for your title and position on the page by topping up. There are a total of 56 Spheres on each page of the site and AdSpheres are arranged by their value from highest to lowest. I think it is a fantastic way to promote your site especially for small businesses and personal websites.

MSN Live Webmasters Center Web Tools

SEOs review of MSN's Live Search has unleashed a new Webmaster Center similar to Google's Webmasters Tools. It doesn't offer quite as much as Google's Web Tools but it has some unique insight into your website.

The center offers things like telling you what the search engine sees as your top 5 pages, Site Map verification for crawling, Robot text file validation, how the site performs in search results against specific keywords, top outbound, top backlinks, indexed pages and last crawl date.

This is a great step for MSN and I give them Kudos for trying to compete with "Google". In the case that someone from Live Search reads this (doubt it) here are my suggestions. Work on the look of the panel and make it a bit more eye appealing. Add a complete back link profile view since link URL is down for MSN. Finally if possible add hot spot or click overlay so people can see the most used links and content on their web site. Overall I give the LIVE Webmaster Center a 7 out of 10.

The store is set up on an e-commerce platform and Content Management System that is really work with. I offers search engine friendly urls and the ability to switch meta data to display site-wide or use unique page titles and descriptions for each page. PageRank Update

Google is updating Page Rank right now. I was going through our website looking for errors, I know there are many. When I went through a few pages the PR bar started jumping around. This is a sign of a PR update.

True Google PageRank is constantly updating but the bar is adjusted every couple of months. It has really become more random, my guess is to try and stop Page Rank inflating and link buying (selling PR).

Google Pr Summary, other than selling links most people think pagerank has become meaningless. You can expect more of this as they will keep devaluing sites as they find them. So what does a website owner do to promote a site and increase search engine rankings?

SEO and Google have killed link building

I must get 50 spam emails a week named "link" or "Dear site owner" as i am sure most website owner do! These people have ruined it for me, I will not even begin to ask for a link in email format anymore. We all need links but these emails just get old. If somenoe takes the time to call me or send me snail mail I will more likley do it if there site is topic related. Don't get me wrong I would love to send out emails and do it the easy way but those days are gone! If you want to build links I would suggest doing it on a more oersonal level and even buy a few from from reputable sources. Link building takes twice as much time, money and cuases more stress than ever for SEO. I Blame Google for this and it's just one more thing to hate them for.

Google Bombing

One part of Google's last update was geared toward fixng " Google -Bombing ". Google Bombing is when a website has a large amount of links pointing to it. For exaple if you use the keyword " SEO company " in your anchor text over and over Google may penalize your site. This has not affected all site but it did affect ours. Fortunatley we have varied our anchor text and did not loose all search engine rankings. It cost us about 40 positions in our website rankings, but I believe we have the solution already. I created new links and space out our keywords. New Anchor text example: ( SEO internet marketing company ) this got us back about 30 positions instantly. If you have been affected you may want to try this to regaing lost search engine rankings.

Dmoz submission 2

Could dmoz have cought up with their submissions or did they improve the process? I tink it's problably that Dmoz got through the submission backlog. I submitted 5 sites on jan12 and had two in the directory within two days. This will vary depending on category and editors. Oh yeah and backlog of new submissions that im sure there behing hit with after website problems.
